My vagabondery used to take me from the Bronx to New Jersey a lot, but that will change. Geography has changed - social geography. Also, I moved to Brooklyn on the same day of the change.
The ride over the George Washington Bridge - when it's clear you can see forever, and, with that kind of perspective, pretend for a minute that everything's different.

Every time I ride out of the city via the GWB I feel like I might just never come home: that I could just keep on going, keep on riding, and leave all the things that make living here so hard behind forever. So free! Then on the way back I find myself getting excited about all the reasons why I'm hear and pushing hard to make it back home.
Nice to have choices. I like that bridge.
